It has now has been over 530 days since Governor Inslee proclaimed a State of Emergency and he has again issued another Emergency Powers Order without going through the legislature. He ordered that all state employees and healthcare professionals working in private facilities must get the COVID-19 vaccine or face termination.
Workers have until October 18 to show proof of full vaccination. If they do not, they will likely be shown the door with “non-disciplinary dismissal.”
It is beyond debatable at this point that the governor has abused his emergency powers and betrayed the people of Washington. We did not ask for this.
People across the state – families, business leaders, community advocates, and more – are already resisting these edicts. Enough is enough. People are either fleeing the state or choosing to dig in their heels. The line is drawn.
The purpose of government is to ensure the rights of the people are protected. When the government and its leaders go beyond that purpose, they are no longer honoring the Constitution.
It is not government’s job to mandate what citizens put in their bodies. The government can issue guidelines or recommendations in the spirit of public health, but it never has the authority without proper legislative procedure to force untested vaccinations on people.
Several decades ago, World War II formally ended and the horrors of the Holocaust’s concentration camps slowly gained exposure. The world looked back at the origins of Nazism’s rise to power in Germany and how the Jewish people were treated.
Of course, one of the steps along the way was officially deeming the Jews a second-class group of citizens which was partly accomplished by forcing them to wear the yellow Star of David. Their passports became invalid until the German authorities stamped the letter “J” on their papers.
The badge was used in many different countries to “not only to stigmatize and humiliate Jews but also to segregate them and to watch and control their movements.” This “control” failed in some Germany occupied countries like Vichy France and Bulgaria, when the local population or governments strongly resisted the government mandates.
As children, we learned about WWII in class, and our own children have learned about the Holocaust in their schools, and some may have had the privilege to visit a museum which provides even greater detail and context for that horrible stain on history. It was unimaginable that something like this could happen again.
But here we are, in Washington, under Governor Inslee, who is essentially saying: show us your vaccine papers. The vaccine becomes an identity, and only the vaccinated have access to full participation in society. UW Medical is even worse; they are refusing to provide lifesaving treatments, like liver transplants to sick patients, unless they get vaccinated. Evil!
Show us your papers, or you lose your job.
Show us your papers, or you cannot participate in public life, travel, or get government help.
Show us your papers, or face total exclusion.
Show us your papers, or you are restricted from public schooling or essential services.
Show us your papers, or no critical medical care for you.
Does anyone know at what point Gov. Inslee will stop? I sure don’t.
Will we resist as Vichy France and Bulgaria, or will we accept vaccine passports and public stigmatization and punishment?
Governor Inslee has misused his emergency powers and is abusing the good people of our state. He is coercing citizens into receiving an experimental vaccine for which there are no long-term studies, even as the director of the CDC admits that the COVID-19 vaccine does not prevent transmission of the virus.
The mainstream media and power-hungry or cowardly politicians have buried facts about COVID-19 itself and the vaccine. Every person has the right to make medical choices for themselves, including if they choose to receive the vaccine. But no one should be forced, coerced, or pressured into receiving the vaccine.
Friends, we are all being pressured into this decision, but remember, there will always be pressure to conform.
“And be not conformed to this world; but be reformed in the newness of your mind, that you may prove what is the good, and the acceptable, and the perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2)
