Are conservative boycotts against Target making a difference?

pride, LGBT

Target’s “Pride” collection for the month of June has garnered significant national attention and no shortage of controversy. What began as outrage over “tuck-friendly” swimsuits for biological men who want to wear women’s swimsuits turned to concern over marketing LGBT-themed products to children. It soon came to light that several of the products in Target’s Pride collection were designed by a Satanist who developed other merchandise with taglines like “Satan respects pronouns.” As more and more details about Target’s entanglement with the LGBT community comes to light, the call for boycotts grows stronger.

Target’s affiliation with the LGBT community is nothing new – this year marks a decade since they began publicly celebrating Pride month. While many conservatives have boycotted Target for years due to this, new details have sparked renewed concern. Fox recently reported that Target has donated over two million dollars to an organization that has pressured schools to hide details from parents regarding their child’s gender transition. The organization also calls for “gender identity” theory to be incorporated in all subjects, including math, saying the subject needs to be “more inclusive of trans and non-binary identities.”

Target is enabling the brainwashing of children with the LGBT agenda and the erasure of parental rights in the school system. They are grooming children and pushing perverse sexual ideologies onto them at a young age. Yet when parents decide to stand up against this agenda to protect the safety and mental wellbeing of their children, the Left calls them “extremists.”

Not only that, one Leftist commentator on MSNBC said calls to boycott Target or any other major corporation because of their support for the LGBT agenda is “literally terrorism,” because boycotters are “forcing the corporations to sell the things you want and not sell the things you don’t.” It is telling that this commentator chose to view the basic principle of supply and demand as “economic terrorism,” when it is one of the most fundamental principles of a free market economy that he himself participates in daily.

The Left accuses the conservative community of being “violent,” “extremists,” and “terrorists” for choosing to spend their money at other grocery stores rather than support a company that spits in the face of their values. But they are silent when their own activists do the same – including calling in bomb threats and creating chaos because their feelings are hurt that Target would move their “Pride” collection to a different part of the store.

A local news organization in Ohio received the following email, which was promptly reported to the police:

“Target is full of [redacted] cowards who turned their back on the LGBT community and decided to cater to homophobic right wing, redneck, bigots, who protested and vandalized their store,” the email read. “We won’t stand idly by as the far right continues to hunt us down. We are sending you a message, we placed a bomb in the following Targets. We will continue to bomb your Targets until you stop cowering and bring back your LGBT merchandise. We will not be erased, we won’t go quietly.”

The email is referencing a decision by some Target locations to move their “Pride” displays to the back of the store, rather than display them at the front entrance. They also pulled a few items that garnered particular controversy, like the “tuck friendly” swimsuits and items designed by a Satanist. Yet, because of these mild actions, members of the LGBT community decided to threaten at least 9 stores full of innocent workers and shoppers. That is the definition of domestic terrorism – yet the Left is silent. Meanwhile, they are accusing conservatives of being terrorists for merely deciding to not shop at a store.

Make no mistake – Target’s actions to move or remove the items do not constitute an apology. It is not a reversal of their decision to support the LGBT community, and it does not mean the boycotts should end. In fact, Target released the following statement:

“Since introducing this year’s collection, we’ve experienced threats impacting our team members’ sense of safety and well-being while at work,” the statement read. “Given these volatile circumstances, we are making adjustments to our plans, including removing items that have been at the center of the most significant confrontational behavior. Our focus now is on moving forward with our continuing commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community and standing with them as we celebrate Pride Month and throughout the year.”

Not a single “threat” made by anti-LGBT activists due to the “Pride” collection has been reported, and Target would not provide clarification.

Target’s actions are empty – they are not backing down, but rather are attempting to save face after they lost $10 billion in market valuation over a 10 day period. The boycotts are showing Target that they cannot push this evil agenda on consumers and still avoid backlash. The Christian, conservative community is a strong force in America, and the country is finally waking up and realizing it.
