SCOTUS Can Relegate Abortion to the Dustbin of History

Roe v. Wade and the decisions that followed it – cases like Planned Parenthood v. Casey – were all based on a deliberate lie: that a fetus in a human womb isn’t a human baby. In the days since those decisions became reality in America, however, science has fully and irrefutably defeated that lie.

Still, the precedent set by these decisions remains in effect despite misinformation playing a foundational role.

If you haven’t heard by now, the U.S. Supreme Court announced it will take up a case this October pertaining to Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban. We can expect a decision next spring. Predictably, the pagans and radicals who cherish abortion, are ramping up the rhetoric (things like “stopping abortion is racist”) and threats of retaliation (court packing, new states, etc.).

But it really doesn’t matter what they think, or what they threaten us with, because genocide and black racial cleansing are always wrong. Science has definitively shown the world the reality of what a baby inside of the womb IS – and it’s time for us to let that inform our nation’s policy decisions and morality.

For example, in 1973, the year SCOTUS gave us Roe, ultrasound images were not widely available. The technology was young. In 1973, it wasn’t possible to see inside a womb the way that it is now, and for practical purposes it was a lot easier to assume that a baby was just a “clump of cells” when you couldn’t see it. But now we can.

Science has given us a window into the womb and we can see the real damage Roe does to a human child.

Here’s a few things we now know that we didn’t know in 1973:

  • Babies have a heartbeat at 6 weeks;
  • They form pain receptors at 7 ½ weeks;
  • They have fully developed hearts at 15 weeks – which handle 26 quarts of blood per day;
  • We can see their arms and legs, fingers and toes with nails and developing fingerprints, fully formed noses and lips, eyelids and eyebrows;
  • We know they can taste and make facial expressions, yawn, hiccup, swallow, and suck their thumbs.

There is no way to deny the truth that a child in the womb is a child — a precious human boy or girl.

If society really cares as much about science as its members like to say, we should be able to acknowledge that this scientific evidence should at least obligate us to reconsider the merits of Roe. After all, we don’t allow murder in our society.

This year, American legislatures introduced over 500 pro-life bills. 80% of Americans oppose the idea of abortion entirely after the first trimester because it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that this baby in the womb can feel, see, hear, and do all the things most of us do outside of the womb.

It is beyond time for America to look to science and revise the heinous policies that allow the pagans and radicals to exert control over women and minorities through the abortion industry.

Republican President Abraham Lincoln had to battle through four years of intense Civil War in order to defeat the Democrats who defended slavery and finally end the practice for good. You could even make the argument that he gave his life for that mission.

History will one day remember abortion the same as it remembers slavery: a grotesque evil that took too long to extinguish. Pray that the U.S. Supreme Court takes this opportunity to right evil and reject the pagan theology that has encroached on the United States.

We must be ready to respond with firmness, and clarity, and the Truth of Jesus Christ. Prepare for battle.
