“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”
—George Santayana, The Life of Reason (1905)
This story is Part II of a three-part series that proclaims: It’s time we get back to basics, especially after many years of the most extreme Left agenda in the history of Washington State. It’s time to defend life; defend the innocence of children; and defend religious liberty. Yet the legacy of three-term Gov. Jay R. Inslee (2013-present) includes targeting:
- Life, via abortion
- The Innocence of Children, via pro-homosexual and pro-transgender policies
- Liberty, especially churches, via Covid lockdowns
In this three-part series, we document the attacks from Governor Inslee. We document them so that you might know them and share them with your friends and family — our cultural apologetic needs to be equipped with historical facts. We have lived through history, and may we never forget this part of the story of our beloved state. And the story of our Evergreen State is not over. FPIW is on the move, and a new vision is taking back ground. It’s time we take back our home.
Part I: 200,000 Abortions
Part II: Pushing Homosexual Indoctrination
Part III: The Covid Lockdown

Governor Jay Inslee will be remembered as the most pro-homosexual and pro-transgender governor in the history of Washington State. Consider these four examples:
(1) Same-Sex Marriage: Inslee’s support for the LGBT agenda began publicly when he was a U.S. Congressman and gubernatorial candidate, stating in 2011 that legalizing same-sex marriage was the “next logical step.” In 2012, the year Inslee was elected governor, Washington became one of the first states to legalize same-sex marriage through popular vote.
(2) Anti-Conversion Therapy: In 2018, Inslee signed SB 5722 into law, which LGBT advocates lauded as a “victory.” The bill banned “conversion therapy” – a harsh and often misleading term for something that could be as simple as parents bringing their children to the local pastor for prayer and discussions about their struggle with homosexuality. Even if a child wants to seek Christian counseling, under Inslee’s law, they are legally barred from doing so. They can only see counselors who will “affirm” that their feelings of same-sex attraction are natural and something to be proud of. Thus, Inslee’s attack on parental rights and the indoctrination of children began. (See the Restored Hope Network for more on why sexual desire can be healed and changed.)
(3) Pro-Pride Month: As the LGBT movement has progressively become louder, larger and more outspoken, Inslee has trailed right along, even signing a “Pride Month Proclamation” in 2022. The Washington State LGBT Commission noted that Washington will “make history this year as Governor Inslee joins the Washington State LGBTQ Commission, RAIN, and representatives from all branches of government and community organizations to raise the progress rainbow flag on the Capitol Campus. This progress flag includes stripes and symbols representing Black and other BIPOC communities, the transgender and gender expansive community, as well as the intersex community.” If that doesn’t sum up Inlslee’s pro-gay legacy in Washington, we don’t know what else will. Raising a flag over the Capitol Campus is one of the highest honors that can be bestowed upon any cause, and waving beside the American flag and the Washington state flag, is the “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Asexual, Aromantic, Queer, Two-Spirit, Non-Binary, and Intersex” flag. What a disgrace. You can read his proclamation in the link.
(4) Pushing Pro-Gay Curriculum: To top it all off, as hopefully one of Inslee’s last pro-LGBT moves in office, the governor signed Senate Bill 5462 into law earlier this year. The bill will require public schools to teach students about the “contributions of underrepresented groups in school, including those in the LGBTQ+ community.” Due to the bill’s intentionally vague language, many citizens didn’t even realize the curriculum would include LGBT content. The bill used terms like “diversity,” “equity,” and “inclusion” to hide the fact that an entirely new lesson plan would be created that focuses on LGBT history and filling our children’s minds with lies. Our own Executive Director P. Brian Noble was interviewed by KOMO TV in our stand against this indoctrination, and we offer a four-part series defending marriage.
This agenda by Inslee is indoctrination, plain and simple: Normalize. Desensitize. De-stigmatize. He seeks to legitimize homosexuality. This curriculum wants to promote the LGBT lifestyle, teaching our children that they have options to choose from when it comes to their sexuality – which at best is an inappropriate discussion with children who have yet to even reach puberty. Another drop in the bucket of Inslee’s pro-gay agenda.
As Inslee leaves office, let his legacy be this: he was the driving force behind a wicked movement to usurp God’s beautiful design for life, love, and marriage, and to instill ideas into our children that bring sexual confusion, devastation, and destruction to their lives. It is an attack on their innocence and sexual identity. Every child needs a mom and a dad because each brings unique and irreplaceable gifts of love to a child’s healthy development and maturity. Dennis Prager writes, “Ask anyone who supports same-sex marriage this: Do you believe that a mother has something unique to give to a child that no father can give and that a father has something unique to give a child that no mother can give?” Yet by redefining marriage and by his pro-homosexual push, Inslee has inflicted damage on countless children and families in our state – and we will hold him accountable.
