A Virginia delegate has drawn criticism for her proposal to send the police after parents who do not support their child’s gender delusions or other LGBT inclinations. Her horrific idea shows why we as Christians must continue to fight against the evil ideas pushed by LGBT advocates who are bent on destroying the family and eroding parental rights.
Del. Elizabeth Guzman said she was misrepresented in an interview, but a review of her full comments make clear – she wants police and social workers to investigate parents for “abuse” if they do not support children having life-altering surgeries or if they want their children to live a Biblical lifestyle. The interview surrounds a bill Guzman had previously proposed in Virginia but says she is considering bringing to the table again.
Guzman, who backed the disastrous abortion-in-the-delivery-room bill several years ago in Virginia, told an interviewer that as a social worker it is important for the state to monitor parents who do not embrace liberal sexual ideology.
“How do you define affirmation, in terms of, the scope of the bill,” the interviewer asked. “I’m not an attorney,” Guzman said. But she then said her “goal” is to “help children, accept them for who they are.” This could include felony charges for parents who do not “affirm” their children. She also made clear that she wanted cancel culture levied against parents, noting that an investigation from Child Protective Services could make it harder for people to find jobs if there is a “CPS charge” against them.
Her proposal shows how the left is willing to use the police and the state to dismantle the nuclear family. Guzman was just caught being honest about her intent to use state power to tear apart the nuclear family and enforce a radical, dangerous sexual ideology onto kids. We’ve seen this elsewhere.
Closer to home, California’s Governor Newsom just signed a bill into law that grants California courts temporary emergency jurisdiction over minors who “flee” or are brought to California to obtain life-altering transgender surgeries – which can permanently sever their reproductive ability – all without parental consent. Leftists in California want to create a national “sanctuary” for gender-confused children who really need the love and prayers of their parents and true medical and psychological help – not surgeries from so-called medical professionals who want to mutilate them.
LGBT advocates frequently target kids because they are easy to manipulate. They try to drive a wedge between faithful parents who want to help their kids overcome their gender dysphoria, much in the same way leftists despise even informing parents that their minor is having an abortion.
As Christians, we must stand up to these attacks on the family and pray for an end to the evil of LGBT ideology. But in addition to prayer, we must speak out against these evils and refuse to be complacent.
We must stand for the truth; we must stand for the family; we must stand for God.
