In Washington state, the cultural and political challenges facing families, churches, and communities require strong, united, biblical voices. The Family Policy Institute of Washington (FPIW) invites pastors, elders, deacons, and ministry leaders to take bold, practical steps to ensure truth and righteousness flourish in our state.

By becoming a Defender Church, your congregation joins a statewide network committed to prayer, engagement, education, and action that impacts public policy and strengthens our communities.

8 Levels of a Defender Church

You decide your level of commitment — every step moves your church toward greater influence in the public square.

1. Represented in Olympia
   FPIW becomes your church’s voice at the state capitol — defending your biblical worldview before legislators.
2. Prays
   Mobilize your congregation to pray for elected officials, local leaders, and the moral direction of our state.
3. Shares
   Equip members to bring the Gospel to neighbors through evangelism events, outreach festivals, military/first responder honors, and “meet your officials” gatherings.
4. Educates
   Teach and disciple believers in a solid biblical worldview—covering life, marriage, parental rights, religious liberty, civil stewardship, and the role of government.
5. Facilitates Signing
   Host signature tables for initiatives and referendums that protect life, family, and freedom.
6. Facilitates Voting
   Encourage biblical voting—through voter registration, ballot prayer Sundays, meet & greet events, and educating on issues and candidates.
7. Engages
   Train members to contact legislators, testify on bills, and submit written positions that make a difference in Olympia.
8. Recruits
   Multiply your impact by raising up more Defenders in your church and partnering with other congregations in your region.
