Chosen: A Discipleship Guide for Newly Elected Officials
What Is Chosen?
Chosen: I Was Elected. What Do I Do Now? is a focused discipleship booklet created for newly elected civil servants who want to lead with a biblical worldview and finish well. It is part of FPIW’s Defender Elected Discipleship Series, written by P. Brian Noble in partnership with the Family Policy Institute of Washington (FPIW).
Who It’s For
Newly elected city, county, and state officials stepping into public office.
Campaign staff, policy advisors, and faith leaders who want a simple tool to disciple and support Christian civil servants.
Churches and ministries seeking a practical resource to equip congregants serving in government.
The Core Message
Chosen helps officials answer the question, “I won my election—now how do I govern faithfully?” by rooting their leadership in Exodus 18:21’s four criteria for public servants: able, fear God, truthful, and hating dishonest gain. Through guided questions, reflection exercises, and biblical teaching, it strengthens character, clarifies calling, and connects daily decisions to a Christian worldview.
Key Features and Benefits
Focus Area | What It Covers | Benefit for Officials |

Biblical Foundation | Teaching on Exodus 18:21, fear of God, and core Scriptures on leadership. | Grounds governing decisions in Scripture, not shifting political winds. |
Leadership Skills | Practical prompts on decision-making, crisis management, collaboration, and negotiation. | Builds confidence to navigate complex policy and relational pressures. |
Integrity & Accountability | Tools to identify pressure points like money, power, influence buying, and entanglement. | Helps prevent moral compromise and protects testimony in office. |
