Make Disciples
““Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:19–20, NASB95)
I need a mentor
Would you like a mentor to walk you through what it means to be a Christ Follower?
The starting point for all elected officials.
Elected Question:
Why is this Biblical Worldview important?
Recognizing that God created all things is essential for effective policymaking. Acknowledging God as the supreme authority fosters humility in the laws you enact. You begin to see yourself as a steward rather than an owner. This perspective helps reduce arrogance and increases humility, allowing you to maintain a balanced view of yourself.
I am elected, what do I do now?
Congratulations on your election! FPIW and FPIW Action are excited to support you as you embark on this important journey of leadership. Have you reflected on how to maximize your impact as an elected official? We’re here to offer guidance and help you build a strong biblical worldview that can enhance your effectiveness and decision-making. Together, we can navigate the labyrinth of civil servant leadership!
Am I really a Servant of God?
Elected officials have a straightforward yet challenging role. Their God-appointed duty is to praise, bless, and acknowledge those who behave well. If their constituents engage in wrongdoing, the elected official is also expected to punish or address these acts of evil. However, the elected official is not there to save the people or replace God in any way. Instead, they are to serve as representatives of God, working for the common good of the community.
How do I become an effective civil servant?
What does it mean to “lord” something over someone? When an elected official uses their position to arrogantly intimidate others, causing them to feel inferior and submissive, that leader is “lording it over” them. Jesus refers to “the Gentiles.” If you’re not familiar with that term, let me explain: Gentiles simply means non-Jews, pagans, unbelievers, people from other nations, or non-Israelites. The bottom line is that whether we are Jewish or Gentile, we should not “lord” our position over others. As elected officials, we are called to be servant leaders.y
Replace a fear of man for a reverence for God.
Prayer to Overcome the Fear of Man:
Lord, You say that if I fear man, I will fall into a snare. I choose to fear You and You alone. I am a man/woman of courage, boldness, and confidence. You are with me wherever I go. You speak to my heart through Your word. I overcome the desire to please man and seek favor with others. I make myself a bondservant to You. You are my Boss, Master, and King. My purpose is to please You. In Jesus’ name, Ame
