Academy Northwest (ANW) is FPIW’s newest Strategic Partner. ANW offers a unique educational model that blends the best aspects of private schooling and homeschooling. They are committed to providing an individualized, Christ-centered education that prepares students for college, career, and a life of purpose, all while partnering closely with parents. ANW believes that true education integrates faith and reason. Their curriculum is designed to foster academic rigor while grounding students in biblical principles. They strive to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and character necessary to excel in their chosen fields while living lives that honor God.
A Parent Partnership
ANW understands that parents are key to their child’s education. That’s why they work closely with families to create a learning plan that fits each student’s needs and goals. Families will experience a flexible approach that puts student needs first and helps them reach their full potential. Unlike traditional schools, they don’t use a one-size-fits-all model. Instead, their goal is to work closely with each family to create a personalized learning experience.
How families benefit from their model:
• Personalized education plans designed with input from parents, students, and teachers.
• Access to a wide variety of high-quality educational resources, not just one set curriculum.
• Learning methods and materials tailored to a child’s unique learning style.
• Ongoing support, encouragement, and regular check-ins to keep students on track.
• Parent involvement opportunities that encourage active participation in a child’s education.
• Quick help and guidance from teachers if a child faces challenges or needs extra motivation.

Blending Private School and Homeschooling
Operating under Washington State’s private school extension law, ANW provides a distinctive educational environment. Their school combines the structure and resources of a private school with the flexibility and customization of homeschooling.
How this model will be an advantage to families:
• Parents will have tailored flexibility in customizing their child’s learning path.
• Parents will be part of a community and a supportive network of like-minded families.
• Parents will enjoy the benefits of accountability from the structure and oversight of a private school.
Multiple Extension Program Locations
Academy Northwest offers a unique “school-without-walls” experience through a network of independently owned learning centers, each reflecting the strengths and character of its local community. Since 1981, they have partnered with thousands of home-educating families, providing flexible support that honors each family’s needs. Every center is individually owned and operated, yet all work together under the guidance of Academy Northwest’s administrative team and volunteer board. Their teachers receive ongoing training in their educational model, ensuring consistency in quality while allowing each center to celebrate its own approach. All their extension programs are fully accredited and recognized by the state, offering small class sizes and personalized attention. Each center weaves a biblical worldview and practical, real-life learning into every student’s plan, empowering students to discover and pursue their unique, God-given purpose.
Independent and Values-Aligned
ANW operates without government funding, which allows them to maintain their independence and focus on their core values. This independence enables them to offer a truly flexible, customizable, and values-aligned education for homeschool families in Washington State. They are committed to providing an environment where students can thrive academically, spiritually, and personally. (For a short history of ANW, click here.)

ANW’s goal is to equip students for success in all areas of life. Through a challenging academic program, a supportive community, and a Christ-centered worldview, ANW prepares students to excel in college, pursue meaningful careers, and live lives of purpose and impact.

Partnership Opportunities and Current Openings
Teacher Partnerships – Start Your Own ANW Affiliated Extension Program
The heart of the Academy Northwest model is to serve home educating families. Teachers work closely with parents to provide a customized education that is best suited to the student.
Teachers partner with Academy Northwest by owning and operating independent extension programs in their areas. If you are a principal or certified educator with administrative skills and are interested in establishing a private school extension program through Academy Northwest, they would love to talk to you more about the application process.
Church Partnerships – Start or Host an ANW Affiliated Extension Program
ANW’s Christian private schools offer both a Full-Time Program in a five-day school and extension program locations for home educating families seeking support and oversight.
Both programs are perfectly suited to partner with churches in ministering to families in their congregations, as well as offering outreach opportunities to local communities looking for education alternatives.
Partnering with Academy Northwest to offer an education program at your church allows for maximum ministry opportunities to your congregation as well as potential employment opportunities for teachers and staff. Please contact them to speak to someone for further information on partnering with their school.
