“Building a Godly legacy requires teaching biblically, pursuing righteousness, and living upright lives.”
— Christian Heritage

Founded in 2005, Christian Heritage Home Educators of Washington is a Christian homeschooling organization based in Longview, Washington, dedicated to strengthening families through parent-directed, Christ-centered education. The organization views parents as having the primary responsibility for educating and disciplining their children and works to help families carry out that responsibility successfully. Its approach combines academic education with biblical teaching, character development, practical skills, and preparation for adulthood. Rather than functioning as a traditional school, Christian Heritage serves as a ministry and support network for homeschooling families throughout Washington.
They share:
We are excited about what God is doing in the Christian homeschooling community in Washington. Increasing numbers of Christian parents are recognizing the need to train up their children “in the way they should go” by teaching them diligently as they sit in their house, as they walk by the way, as they lie down, and as they rise up. (Deut. 6:7) Increasing numbers of fathers are actively leading their families in the homeschooling process. Increasing numbers of parents are recognizing the importance of homeschooling all the way through high school.
At FPIW, we too are delighted to join in this effort for Christian homeschooling because we know it protects children from indoctrination in public schools, customizes education based upon their own God-given talents, and strengthens the natural bond between child and parent. There are many wonderful benefits of home schooling.
The Vision
The Vision of Christian Heritage is this: “Christian Heritage upholds the God-given responsibility of home-based discipleship and education that is parent-directed, free from government control, and Christ-centered to the glory of God.” A picture of their Board is to the left, and each person has dedicated themselves to serving parents as they aim to fulfill the Christian vision for the children.
A central part of Christian Heritage’s mission is equipping parents with the knowledge and resources necessary to homeschool effectively. Through seminars, conferences, courses, and educational materials, the organization provides practical guidance on curriculum selection, teaching methods, planning, testing, recordkeeping, and educating students through the high-school years. It also helps families understand the legal foundations and responsibilities associated with homeschooling in Washington. This practical support is especially valuable to parents who are beginning homeschooling and may feel uncertain about how to organize or manage their children’s education. By drawing on the experience of veteran homeschoolers, Christian Heritage helps families become more confident and capable educators.
Character & Community

Christian Heritage also places a strong emphasis on family discipleship and character formation. The organization believes education should involve more than academic achievement and should help children develop spiritually, mentally, physically, and practically. Parents are encouraged to integrate biblical principles into everyday learning while cultivating responsibility, wisdom, strong character, and a lifelong desire to learn. This approach allows Christian families to provide greater consistency between the principles taught in their homes, churches, and children’s education. The ultimate objective is not simply to produce successful students, but to prepare young people to become responsible and faithful adults.
Another important strength of Christian Heritage is the community it creates among homeschooling families. Conferences, family camps, retreats, seminars, and other gatherings provide opportunities for parents and children to develop friendships, exchange ideas, receive encouragement, and learn from experienced homeschool families. These activities help ensure that homeschooling does not have to mean isolation. The organization also supports families through the different stages of home education, from teaching young children to preparing teenagers for college, employment, ministry, or other paths after graduation. This long-term support gives families a community they can rely upon throughout their homeschooling journey.
