Founded in 1989, Prisoners for Christ Outreach Ministries (PFC) is a 501(c)3 nondenominational Christian prison ministry based in Woodinville, WA. They are dedicated to taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ into the jails, prisons, military prisons and juvenile centers in Washington State, across the United States and around the world. More than 11 million people are in prisons with limited access to the Gospel. The darkness, chaos and isolation of prison can be overwhelming. An inmate’s shame and guilt cause a perpetual state of hopelessness. And that is where Prisoners for Christ meets them.

When prisoners want change, PFC points them to redemptive change. When they want truth, they are pointed towards the Bible. When they want meaning in their lives, PFC points them to the Creator who gave them life. When they want freedom, they are led to eternal freedom. Simply put: PFC connects with prisoners so they can connect with Christ. In this way, prisoners can turn their broken past into a Christ-filled future, replacing their hopelessness with hope for today, tomorrow, and eternity.
Working with a network of prison chaplains and volunteers, Prisoners for Christ offers Bibles, devotionals, Bible studies, seminary-level classes and mentorship programs specifically designed for inmates. Their worship services, Bible studies, special concerts, and one-to-one visitations are the highlight of a prisoner’s week. Their popular Bible study correspondence course and Yard Out newspaper give inmates access to encouragement and pathways to grow spiritually.
PFC also offers support and resources to prison chaplains, inmates and their families, and those beginning their re-entry into society. They have field offices in 4 continents and 34 countries, including Bolivia, Cameroon, D.R. Congo, Ethiopia, Guatemala, Honduras, India, Kenya, Nepal, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Uganda – and many others. Staffed by 3,968 volunteers, they are poised to turn the locked doors of prison into open doors of potential through Christ.
The impact PFC is having around the world is staggering. In 2023, 1.2 million prisoners attended 9,000 services and 49,000 inmates gave their lives to Christ. Last year, 2.1 million prisoners (a 69% increase) attended 13,000 services and 73,094 gave their lives to Christ. Their literature department is exploding with over 18,000 Bibles distributed to inmate churches around the globe. And this is just the ‘tip of the spear’. PFC is currently planning to open Bible Colleges inside prisons around the world, plant churches inside prison walls and provide mass digital distribution of their resources.
Prisoners for Christ has a plan, and the key part of the solution is you! Here are 3 ways you can join their mission:
(1) Give – It takes just $0.59 to reach one prisoner with the Gospel. Become a monthly giver by joining The Ravens Club, or make a one-time gift.
(2) Volunteer – PFC offers many volunteer opportunities including mentoring, visits to the prisons, letter writing, sharing PFC with your church, and more. They will train you via their Volunteer Training Course and be there with you every step along the way.
(3) Pray – PFC needs more local prison access and consistent financial support to support their services. Join FPIW in offering up prayers to the throne room of God for our faithful Strategic Partners.
Prisoners for Christ is 100% evangelistic vs. service oriented. They closely monitor and track metrics and statistics and share their results with donors and volunteers. If you feel led to be a part of the PFC team, there are several opportunities:
• If you have a loved one in prison and desire that Christian literature be sent to that person, please go online at prisonersforchrist.org to submit a literature request.
• If you would like to receive their current annual report or register for their newsletter, either in print or electronically, please go to the website to request copies.
• If you would like to volunteer or develop a PFC outpost in your area, please go to the website and ask for their franchise brochure.
• If you would like to connect on social media, please visit their pages on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
Thank you for considering to support a ministry that is redeeming lives for Christ.
