“Innocence is something we should fight for.”
– The Innocent
The Innocent operates with a straightforward mission: to protect and preserve the innocence of children in the United States. Rather than attempting to replace law enforcement, the organization works alongside officers and agencies by providing specialized training, technology, equipment, and investigative knowledge at no cost to participating law-enforcement personnel.
Its emphasis on proactive investigation is particularly important because crimes involving the exploitation of children increasingly involve sophisticated online communications and technologies. By giving investigators additional tools and expertise, The Innocent seeks to help communities become better equipped to identify predators, investigate crimes, and protect vulnerable children. Such is the remarkable mission of these courageous men and women of The Innocent, with whom FPIW is proud to partner.
Training Law Enforcement
One of the defining features of The Innocent is its strong connection to experienced law-enforcement professionals. The organization’s instructors include active-duty officers with backgrounds in areas such as sex-trafficking investigations, Internet Crimes Against Children investigations, undercover operations, surveillance, narcotics investigations, and specialized task forces. Chief Operating Officers, for example, are often active detective sergeants at a Washington or Idaho law-enforcement agency.
In 2026, for instance, they presented to more than 100 law enforcement leaders at the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC), a key organization in our state. The presentation also generated more leads with other agencies across the state for future impact.
Additionally, Chief Training Officers serve as an investigations sergeant with the police department and focus extensively on combating online crimes against children and training other officers to identify and apprehend online predators. This practical experience allows The Innocent to provide instruction rooted not merely in theory, but in investigative techniques developed through actual law-enforcement work.
Officers from agencies in Idaho and Washington, including the Idaho State Police, Post Falls Police Department, Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office, and Liberty Lake Police Department, have provided positive testimonials regarding the organization’s training — and many others, too:

Their comments emphasize the usefulness of the investigative techniques, resources, practical instruction, and expertise offered by The Innocent’s instructors. These partnerships demonstrate how a nonprofit organization can complement the work of local law enforcement by supplying specialized knowledge and resources that individual departments may not otherwise have readily available.

Brea Burnett
Our friend Brea Burnett, a key team member of The Innocent and the adopted daughter of WA Rep. Brian Burnett (with glasses and wearing the jacket), has an incredible redemption story to share:
My name is Brea Burnett, and my life is a living testimony of God’s incredible power to redeem, restore, and repurpose even the darkest of stories. I was trafficked at the age of eight and remained in “the life” until I was 17. It was only by the grace of God—and the help of a kind family and a few faithful mentors—that I was able to find a way out. My path has been anything but easy, but even in the midst of trauma, pain, and loneliness, the Lord never let go of me.
After escaping trafficking, I longed deeply for a family, for a place to belong. At 20 years old, while attending Bible school, I moved in with a family from my church. Just five months later, they asked to adopt me. Today, I am a daughter, a sister, and an aunt—surrounded by a loving family that reflects God’s faithfulness and healing power. My story is not just about survival—it’s about restoration, and now, about mission.
Her testimony of redemption and healing is truly amazing, and her appearances include the Dr. Phil Show, many churches, as well as gatherings at the Capitol in Olympia, Washington.

Uniting Citizens with Law Enforcement
Another important strength of The Innocent is its effort to unite law enforcement and ordinary citizens around the shared responsibility of protecting children. The organization identifies professionalism, mission-driven service, and humble service among its guiding values, emphasizing integrity, accountability, compassion, discipline, and respect. Its community outreach encourages people from education, health care, business, technology, advocacy, the arts, and other fields to consider how their own skills and resources can contribute to protecting children and supporting families.
The organization is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and community donations help support its work of training and equipping local law enforcement. In this way, The Innocent creates a bridge between concerned citizens and investigators: community support can help provide officers with the training and resources needed to confront crimes that are often difficult to detect and investigate.
How You Can Help and Support
Ultimately, The Innocent represents a focused effort to make communities in Idaho, Washington, and throughout the United States safer for children. Its mission recognizes that combating child trafficking and sexual exploitation requires more than responding after abuse has occurred; it also requires trained investigators, modern technology, effective investigative methods, cooperation among agencies, and communities willing to support those efforts. By bringing experienced law-enforcement professionals together to share their knowledge with other investigators, the organization seeks to multiply the impact of expertise that has been developed through years of difficult investigative work.

Its commitment to protecting children while strengthening the capabilities of law enforcement provides communities with a practical way to participate in the fight against child exploitation. At the center of all of these efforts is a simple but powerful principle: children deserve the opportunity to grow up safe from sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking, and protecting that innocence is a responsibility worthy of sustained community support.
