“Freedom. Free Markets. Limited Government.” Those are the three guiding principles of Turning Point USA, a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2012 by Charlie Kirk. The group’s goal is to create a conservative grassroots network of young Americans. To such an end, they have made incredible progress among millions and millions of young students across America. It’s the largest and fastest-growing youth organization in the U.S. with thousands of chapters across our nation, including in Washington State. In our era of the American Story, the impact of Turning Point USA should not be underestimated because with such an impact upon young voters, they will be shaping the future of our nation for years to come.
“Prove Me Wrong”
In an age when Leftism rules on the vast majority of college campuses, stepping onto a campus with conservative ideas is not easy. But Kirk entered that Lion’s Den — and he did it extremely well. His booth “Prove Me Wrong” offered the microphone to students to challenge him, and they would engage in a debate with Kirk. He never graduated from college, but he was extremely well-read. Above all, he made logical arguments with kindness and clarity. With great courage, he confronted the lies with truth, and he changed hearts by going through the mind. His videos were seen by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. TPUSA is a living testament to the truth that “ideas have consequences.”
The influence of young people is paramount. “Donald Trump is not president today without the support of young men, and Charlie Kirk deserves credit not just for organizing young men, but persuading an older generation to listen and to invest,” John Della Volpe, Director of Polling at Harvard University, told ABC News.
TPUSA & Washington State
After the political assassination of Charlie Kirk in 2025, a new chapter for TPUSA has begun under the leadership of his wife, Erika Kirk. She aims to carry forth the mission into new heights:
Turning Point USA, Inc. is organized and operated exclusively for educational and charitable purposes in order to empower informed civic and cultural engagement grounded in American exceptionalism and a positive spirit of action. Turning Point USA guides citizens through the development of knowledge, skills, values, and motivation, so they can meaningfully engage in their communities to restore traditional American values like patriotism, respect for life, liberty, family, and fiscal responsibility.
In fact, Erika Kirk’s “Make Heaven Crowded” tour included a major stop at The Pursuit Church in Kirkland.
Also in Washington State, there are chapters, for instance, in Clark County (website) and the University of Washington (Instagram).
The chapter at the University of Washington has some 130 active members with popular and successful events. They hosted Nick Freitas (2026); Brandon Tatum (2024); Riley Gaines (2025); and Dr. Ben Carson (2025). In the Spring of 2024, they hosted Charlie Kirk himself for the “Live Free Tour”. Allies to Defend Our American Heritage
At FPIW, we give thanks to TPUSA for the shared common ground on issues such as defending life, citizenship, religious liberty, and marriage. As a tribute to Charlie Kirk’s death, our FPIW Headquarters kept a sign in the window honoring Charlie Kirk through all of 2025 (picture on right).
Upon Kirk’s political assassination, President Donald J. Trump said Charlie Kirk is forever enshrined into the pantheon of American heroes and “the eternal chronicle of America’s greatest patriots”. Trump continued: “On that terrible day — 9/10/2025 — our greatest evangelist for American liberty became immortal. He’s a martyr now for American freedom. I know I speak for everyone here today when I say that none of us will ever forget Charlie Kirk, and neither now will history.” At FPIW, we, too, shall never forget Charlie nor his mission. We shall seek to “overcome evil with good” (Romans 12:21b), and we look forward to many more years of partnership with TPUSA as they carry The American Torch for our country and the principles that shape our great story.
