If we still weren’t sure whether President Biden fell in the Christian or pagan camp, his actions last week provide us the definitive answer. Through multiple initiatives, the Biden administration is rejecting God’s design and promoting harmful lies. For those faithful Christians that believe the Bible to be the infallible, authoritative Word of God (II Tim 3:16) and “and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” there is no question that Biden needs major correcting!
First, in a direct, panicked response to states across the country successfully passing bills that protect women’s sports, the morally corrupt U.S. Department of Education is amending Title IX rules for college sports, making it illegal to discriminate against athletes on the basis of gender identity and sexual orientation. In other words, biological men will be able to compete against women.
Schools will be forced to allow transgender athletes to compete with the gender they identify with or lose their federal funding.
This doesn’t mean that our efforts to protect women’s sports through local legislation are hopeless – it only means we must fight harder.
Biden claimed that state laws mandating that athletes compete based on their biological sex are “simply wrong” and “hateful.” We believe that this rejection of the concept of biological sex is evil and must be condemned and opposed with all our might.
Perhaps most horrific, the administration is doubling down in its support of transgenderism by encouraging “gender-reassignment” surgery – mutilation surgery – and hormone “therapy” – abuse – for minors. We have been very clear: this is government-sponsored child abuse, and those who participate in it must be punished.
The Department of Health and Human Services published a document titled “Gender Affirming Care and Young People.” It lists what it considers “appropriate treatments” for transgender minors, which include “Top surgery – to create male-typical chest shape or enhance breasts;” and “Bottom surgery – surgery on genitals or reproductive organs, facial feminization or other procedures.”
This statement is followed by a number of egregious lies. The Department falsely asserts that “gender-affirming care is neither child maltreatment nor malpractice,” “early gender-affirming care is crucial to overall health and well-being,” and “there is no scientifically sound research showing negative impacts from providing gender-affirming care.”
In reality, gender “transition” surgeries are experimental procedures that mutilate a healthy body, lead to psychological derangement, and cause patients to become infertile. “Gender-affirming care” does not treat the mental health crisis that gender dysphoric people are facing. Often, it only makes the situation worse and allows doctors to neglect treatments that will actually help the patient.
The insanity doesn’t end there. Secretary of State Antony Blinken announced that beginning April 11th, Americans will be able to denote their gender as “X” rather than “M” or “F,” perpetuating the pagan idea that there are more than two genders.
Evil ideas are being spread from the very top ranks of our government, meaning the entirety of our country is undergoing a spiritual attack. These lies about gender and the human person come from the devil, who is the great deceiver. “When he lies, he speaks out of his own character, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” – John 8:44.
The Devil, the Prince of Lies, has led our government to disregard Truth, facts, and morality. This will only continue to extend to other aspects of life until we root out the darkness with the light of Christ and the Word of God!
Meanwhile, each week Florida Gov. DeSantis demonstrates he is the “Profiles in Courage” leader every Christian elected leader needs to imitate if we are to succeed. Who in Washington State will be our Ron DeSantis for a time such as this? Are there ANY courageous, Christian leaders here in Washington State who will match his courage? If so, speak up!
Our job is to pray for a Christian revival, to demand our elected leaders oppose this agenda, and to continue speaking the Truth about God’s design and the dangers of gender ideology.
