With the devastating Equality Act rapidly advancing in Congress and other efforts to undermine Christians and Christian values in America afoot, it’s been interesting to watch President Biden, who claims to be a member of the Catholic Church, do everything is his power to adopt the culture of death and lead the first great persecution of Christians in America.
Through the first 100 days of his presidency, it is already evident that President Biden’s Catholic faith means nothing to him as President.
In fact, Biden cares so little about his Catholic beliefs that he’s nominated Xavier Becerra to lead the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Why Biden, a professed Catholic, would choose one of the most radical, pro-abortion activist policymakers in American history to lead the department that will ensure the health and life of all Americans, is just unconscionable.
It really couldn’t be a more radical selection. Biden may as well have appointed the head of Planned Parenthood to lead the department, as we will see the culture of death promoted to extents not imagined even 10 years ago. Becerra, another man who claims to be Catholic, is the fox guarding the American hen house when it comes to protecting the lives of babies.
This is the same Xavier Becerra that, as a congressman, voted against banning partial-birth abortions – where a baby is pulled part of the way out of his or her mother and has its spinal cord cut before the doctors pull the rest of the innocent child out. It’s heinous. Becerra also voted against giving medical care to babies born alive after a failed abortion attempt.
As Attorney General of California, he charged David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt, the journalists who exposed Planned Parenthood’s baby body part sales scheme, with 15 felony counts and made them the first undercover journalists ever prosecuted under California’s video recording laws. He sued to force pregnancy centers to refer their patients to abortion clinics. He also sued the Little Sisters of the Poor, trying to force the nuns to pay for birth control.
It’s SHOCKING that a professed Catholic like Biden would ever associate with someone who promotes views so contrary to Catholic teachings and the Gospel of Jesus Christ, let alone appoint them to one of the most important positions in America.
This is why I’ve said that one cannot be a Christian and a modern-day Democrat. As evidenced by policies that condone or promote partial-birth abortion, the Democrat Party is completely at odds with decency, compassion, and the teachings of Jesus Christ.
Unfortunately, while there has been much silence from many leaders of the Catholic Church, there are some bishops who have spoken out bluntly and boldly.
“The president should stop defining himself as a devout Catholic and acknowledge that his view on abortion is contrary to Catholic moral teaching,” Bishop Joseph Naumann of the Archdiocese of Kansas City said, adding that “[Biden] cannot define what it is to be a Catholic and what Catholic moral teaching is.”
They’re harsh words, but they’re true words. Biden’s policies on abortion and sexuality are absolutely, without question, “serious evil,” as Bishop Naumann says.
Here’s the reality of the Bible: the truths communicated in the time it was written DID NOT CHANGE based on what the Romans did. In fact, one could argue that the Roman Empire had the same sort of moral bankruptcy as today’s Democrats.
Radical humanist, pagan agendas aren’t new to history. In fact, President Biden reminds me of the Roman Emperor who the history books remember as “Julian the Apostate,” the last pagan Roman Emperor who ruled from 361-363 AD.
An apostate is defined as one who completely and voluntarily abandons the Christian religion to the point of threatening the Body of Christ. Julian pretended to be a Christian during his rise to power, and when he became Emperor of Rome, the most powerful leader in the world, he announced his paganism, and started the last great persecution of Christians. Fortunately, he only lasted a few years in power.
The ailing Biden has certainly abandoned his faith and is certainly trying to match Julian the Apostate. With his support of the Equality Act, of promoting unlimited abortions, and surrounding himself with deadly Planned Parenthood activists like Becerra, Biden certainly seems to be in a contest with Communist China’s General Secretary to see who can harm the most Christians and babies.
Are Joe Biden and Xavier Becerra history’s next great apostates? It certainly seems like Biden welcomes his role to persecute Christians and destroy babies. Pray more Christian leaders publicly confront the evil, and that our President repents and turns back to God. Otherwise, history will only remember him as “Biden the Apostate,” the last Pagan President.
