In stark contrast to the President’s optimistic and uplifting message was the shocking and appalling behavior of Leftist politicians. Throughout Trump’s entire address, progressives put on one disgusting display of disrespect after another.
As Donald Trump delivered powerful, emotional stories, the House chamber erupted into applause and cheers of “USA! USA! USA!” But only one half of the chamber was applauding and cheering. Democrats sat on their hands the entire Address.
At one point in his remarks, Trump called the Leftists out, saying: “I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud.” In fact, one Democrat was thrown out by the Sergeant at Arms for continuously heckling, and he has been censured for his uncivil behavior.
Consider these other examples:
• They refused to recognize family members who lost loved ones because of their open border policies.
• They refused to applaud record numbers of Americans enlisting in the Army.
• They refused to stand and applaud the capture of the Abbey Gate terrorist.
• They even refused to stand and applaud a young boy who overcame brain cancer.
Some female progressives wore pink, allegedly protesting Trump’s position on “women’s rights.” But some of these same women just the day before voted against protecting women from sick men cheating in women’s sports.
John 13:35 reminds us: “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” The Democrats’ display last night was anything but love.

The examples of the Democrats this week are not a way to win people’s hearts. May our witness never be cold-hearted, but demonstrate a love for Jesus and each other.
