The Supreme Court heard arguments for a monumental abortion case today, December 1st. If ruled favorably, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization could overturn Roe v. Wade and return power over abortion laws to the states. The issue at hand in this case is whether all pre-viability abortion bans are unconstitutional.
The state of Mississippi passed a law in 2018 that bans abortion after 15 weeks. A local abortion facility sued the state in response, and the case has worked its way up to the Supreme Court. The court is expected to announce its decision in the spring. This case could signal the beginning of the end of abortion in America. It serves as an opportunity to correct the court’s horrific error in 1973. The decision in Roe v. Wade was based on an invalid interpretation of the Constitution, and with new justices on the Court, we are hopeful that the case will be overturned.
Not only was Roe v. Wade wrongly decided, but it has allowed a demonic practice to be performed freely throughout our country. The Satanic Temple took action against Texas’ recent abortion law, claiming abortion as one of their religious rituals. It also recently offered to provide women legal assistance in order to perform their “abortion ritual.”
It’s no surprise that Satanists tout abortion as a religious practice. As Dr. Peter Kreeft once explained, “Abortion is the Antichrist’s demonic parody of the Eucharist. That is why it uses the same holy words, ‘This is my body,’ with the blasphemously opposite meaning.”
Society promotes the killing of another for the sake of oneself, the exact opposite of what Christ did. Satan has infiltrated society through abortion and distorted God’s Word, feeding us lies about a woman’s body and the humanity of the unborn. As even Satanists know, abortion is undeniably the killing of an innocent child. It is the greatest human rights violation of our time and we pray that the end is near with the Dobbs case.
The fact of the matter is that there is no text, no words, not hint of a right to kill an unborn baby or to perform an abortion in the US Constitution. This “right” was completely made up in the Roe V. Wade decision by Supreme Court Justices and was not based on the Constitution, its amendments, or reality. We can’t have a country or a constitution or legislative branch if judges have the right to make law based on personal political preferences, rather than what is written in law – just as a man can’t unilaterally declare that he is now woman and ignore the facts of biology and DNA.
If Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization is decided correctly, many states will outlaw abortion entirely, saving lives every day. Twelve states have trigger abortion bans in place that will go into effect as soon as Roe is overturned. In addition, eleven states have six-week bans that are not currently in effect but can become law if power is returned to the states by this case.
The vast majority of Americans and a sizable minority here in Washington are opposed to late-term abortion, so we can also be hopeful that many other states, regardless of political leaning, will follow suit in implementing restrictions. Here in Washington, nothing will change because Planned Parenthood runs the Democratic Party and our radical elite establishment. All Christians must redouble our evangelization efforts in our state if we are to change laws.
As our justices deliberate on this case, please pray that God grants them wisdom and that they rule in favor of life.
Please also pray that our country and the Democratic Party rejects Satan and his works of promoting the evils of abortion and that we all wake up to the horrors of baby killing. Unless we recognize the grave sins that we’ve made, and repent, our nation will not survive.
