“Just about everything in here – 95% plus – the jury never heard.”
— Bruce E. Hawkins, Author of Harshly Condemned
Our good friend Bruce E. Hawkins has authored a remarkable book about the case of Larry & Carri Williams, the story of a homeschooling Christian family with nine kids from Sedro-Woolley, Washington. Their story made national and international headlines — and the story is not done yet.
Bruce’s background is perfectly suited for this case. As a graduate of the Law School of Regent University, his legal acumen is specifically tailored to protecting parental rights and religious liberty. In addition, Bruce was a practicing attorney for three years at the national headquarters of Homeschooling Legal Defense in Washington, DC. In his presentation below, he provides highlights from his book Harshly Condemned. Bruce points out that the jury never heard an overwhelming portion of the evidence presented in the book; and if they had, he says, they would have never convicted Larry & Carri in the first place.
An outline includes these points:
- Child Protective Services said, “We can change that” (the autopsy report) [See page 3 of Harshly Condemned: “Well, that can be changed.”]
- CPS has a history of targeting homeschoolers
- Self-harm played a signifiant role
- Concussions can cause “delayed fainting”
- Hana fainted facedown partially off edge of patio
- Initial reports said “accidental death”
- CPS storms house, seizes children
- CPS constructs a false narrative
- Media and judge promote false narrative
- The jury never heard the full truth
Bruce ends his presentation with these words calling for prayer:
“Pray for it. We need to have this grow in a big way, and out of that, you have enough community support to result in the Pardons Board saying, ‘This is for real’.”
That is our prayer, too. You can take practical and easy actions to help the Williams family by clicking here for FPIW’s “Critical Action Alert: Rescue Mission.” May this loving and patriotic family be restored to its greatness.
